How do LGBTI+ activists fight under authoritarianism? Russian experiences shared. Queer Ties 2nd meeting Aug 15! Join the resistance
Queer Ties, a UniKuir act for developing communication between the LGBTI+ activists across the nations, stands for a platform for exchanging and reflecting on challenges of LGBTI+ activism in different political climates and for building solidarity among the activists.
For the first meeting our guests were from Tiflis Pride, Georgia ❤️?
The second meeting’s focus country is Russia. We will be meeting with Russian LGBTI+ activist Kseniia M. from the LGBTQ+ rights organization operating in Russia since 2008, ComingOut, and a young activist from the transnational pride held annually in Kirkenes across the border from Russia since 2017, Barents Prideto, to discuss the advocacy under authoritarian regimes under the title of “Beyond Fear: Advocacy Under Authoritarian Regimes”.
If you are also interested in the real life experiences under the authoritarian regimes alongside the strategies developed by the LGBTI+ activists, the 2nd Queer Ties online meeting is on August, 15.
